The Charlotte Chapter is off to a fast start this year! We have added several new board members and we are very excited about the 2019-2020 term. While I continue to be impressed and enthusiastic about our meeting content and programming, I am over the moon about the people and minds serving on this year’s CAHU board. For the first time in a long time, our board is represented by several folks from varying positions in our industry. We have representation from individual producers, group producers, carriers, TPA’s, GA’s, and PEO administrators. The different perspectives shared among our board has been inspiring and has led to the unique and innovative programs being shared every month at our luncheons.
Building off the momentum from our annual golf tournament in June at Raintree Country Club benefitting The Spokes Group, our chapter has hosted two lunch meetings, with no signs of slowing down!
Our August meeting was held at Cantina 1511 with a focus on alternative funding strategies for small groups, sponsored by Wellnet. Charles Gragg, VP Business Development at Wellnet, presented many thoughtful solutions for our members and guests to consider. Following the luncheon, one CAHU member stated, “We need more meetings like this! This is why I stay a member of NAHU!” We could not agree more!
Our September meeting was at The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. We enjoyed a fantastic lunch, engaging fellowship, and gained insightful perspective from Bill Thomas at Sedera Health. Mr. Thomas led a discussion around shared health plans and introduced many of our members and guests to an increasing practice trend in our industry.
Exciting things are happening in the Charlotte Chapter and we hope you will join us at our October luncheon on Wednesday, October 16. We will have a panel of Direct Primary Care providers share their time and ideas with us – it is sure to be a great time! Don’t miss it!
